Healthy Orange Julius

·

Delicious, refreshing, and healthy version of a Orange Julius! Once you try this recipe you would never know it has zero added sugar, is dairy free, or is low carb! This drink is the absolute perfect treat on a hot summers day and an amazingly refreshing way to start off your week - whip up this Orange Julius in just 10 minutes or less! this recipe tastes just like the stuff you get from the store but with a healthy twist and is super satisfying, I am drinking one right now!

This healthy homemade version of an Orange Julius has all of the amazing orange flavor and frothy consistency as one of my favorite treats to get at the mall, but without any of the dairy or added sugar! Which, in my opinion, is just perfection! Now I know what your question is - but Sam, what makes it just so amazing and perfect? WELL, let me tell you! Each serving comes in at ONLY 138 calories, just eleven grams of net carbs and ten grams of NATURALLY occurring sugar! Now, compare that to the original that I would always get from the mall, I looked up the nutrition facts so you don’t have too, just a SMALL size of the original is 50 grams of carbs and has 48 grams of added sugar! Honestly, I was SHOCKED when I saw that! And when I read the ingredient list…. Well, you can look that up if you want to. This version has only six ingredients, I will be sticking to my healthy homemade version from now on! Plus, this way I can have it whenever I want! My go to is always the Orange Julius or the Strawberry Banana Julius, I will probably be trying to perfect that recipe too so make sure to keep a look out for that! Plus, how cute are these little glass ‘milk’ bottles with the reusable straw?! I need every excuse to use these every single day.

How was everyone’s weekend? If you are in Canada, let me know what you did for Canada Day, if you are not in Canada I still want to know what you did with your weekend! I love to get out and soak up as much sun and heat as possible since our summers are so short here in Alberta, I have to bask in as much sun as possible before it gets cold out again! I hear we are in for a hot summer this year, so far it has been beautiful! Thank goodness I live in a lake community though, I don’t know what I would do without it!

I am counting down the days until I am on my two week holiday, it starts THIS WEEKEND! I am so excited, it is just a staycation this year, but that is totally fine with me. Sometimes it is really nice to just actually have time to enjoy your own home and backyard. Plus having a ton of beautiful hikes and trails so close to where I live is so awesome, I love to take the dog out for a little bit of a drive and off we go for a nice hike. I usually take him on the ones that I find a bit easier, I don’t want him to lose too much stamina because he is 80 pounds and there is no way I could carry him back. Luckily there are usually little streams and water along the way that he can cool down in and I make sure to bring him lots of water and treats, plus I like to bring his bed in the car so he can nap on the way home, he is usually pretty tuckered out after that. The funny thing is though once we get home he is ready to just go on his typical daily walk! He is like ‘yeah that was awesome, now we go on my regular route in the neighborhood right?’ Does your dog do anything similar or are they done for the day after a nice hike? Let me know! I find it so funny because he is not a high energy dog, he is very chill and is usually found lounging in his bed, on my bed, or on the couch all day long. Even when I let him in the backyard he just immediately lays down for a nice sun bathe. Ok, it is a beautiful day outside and it is time to enjoy a refreshing Orange Julius so let’s get to it! What are you waiting for?
